One of the best gangster flicks of our times, the plot is simple but bewitching excellent performance by Vas Blackwood and the rest of the guys, the film captures the British street scene with honesty, shot in true-to-scene locations a unique one of kind film, i see it doing very well in world over, a classic example of what goes around comes around and the true saying that a gangster once yields a sword, will die by one. The climax was fantastic with a good mix of natives and immigrant (even a Sikh) making a fantastic entry scene for the final fight. if not for the "always" underwhelming reception of the American press for good British films, i see this movie doing big business if a pending proper release.

The Synopsis for The Guvnors (2014) 720p
The Guvnors is both love letter and hate mail to the alpha male. This story's alpha is Mitch who lives buried in suburban London, having turned his back on his previous life of casual violence and intimidation as part of a legendary South East London firm. In the modern day he's the doyen of respectability and quiet confidence, but Mitch used to be a Guv'nor. This film holds a mirror up to Mitch and shows him the monster once again, buried deep in both DNA and psyche, desperate to break out and wreak havoc.

Gripping Gangster Tale!Reviewed byarunmozhicholarVote: 9/10
This film has been written off by some lazy press reviewers as just another mockney fighting movie, probably due to its slightly unfortunate title and cover art. The reality is that couldn't be further from the truth. Although I sat down expecting to watch some kind of sub-Nick Love fluff (which isn't setting the bar very high at all), this was a far better film than I had expected. The cinematography, music, performances and pacing were all very good, and the story is far from the kind of nonsense you'd associate with most standard football hooligan-style movies. It has nuance, depth and some great twists. It's a proper film, basically, and not just a load of fighting. Though there's a fair amount of that too. I don't normally write reviews but I felt compelled to defend this movie because on reading some reviews (after I'd seen the film) it seemed that a lot of people had got it completely wrong and probably prejudged it because from a glance at the box, you'd think it was a bit dim. But it isn't. Good work all round.
None of the thugs in this film, not the old ones nor the young strapping ones, would last five minutes with any of the street gangs in the U.S. Their aristocratic British legacy infuses their conduct; that is, they are not as brutal as they pretend to me. Any gang in America would spit chew up these chumps and spit them out like waste.
That said, those British blokes do try their best with whatever weapons they do have on hand - constant spitting, gangsta posturing, bricks and bottles, and maybe the occasional knife or gun. Still, in light of how gangs really operate around the world, these chaps are weak, made immasculine by British mores. They may as well had been slapping each other with white gloves for all the violence portrayed herein. It was cute, though.
